Extend trial period of QTP/UFT

Extend  trial period of QTP/UFT

If you have installed QTP/UFT and its going to expire soon, no need to worry you can extend the expiry period. Make sure your QTP is not completely expired and few days still remaining to expire. You can follow the instruction mentioned below and you can stop the expiration date.

For the first time installation :

• Install QTP/UFT trial version.

• Note down the date that you have installed. For example you have installed on date xx-Jan-2014

• Open QTP/UFT and do your work whatever you want to do.

• Once your work is done close QTP/UFT

• Next time when you are going to open QTP/UFT please change the system current date to the installation date. Suppose system date is YY-Jan-2014, please change it to xx-Jan-2014.

• Now open QTP/UFT.

• Once you will open QTP/UFT after changing system date to installation date the QTP/UFT expiry date will remain same.

• Once QTP is opened you can now go ahead and change the system date to current date if you would like to. It will not effect the expiry date once QTP/UFT is already started.

• Next time whenever you start QTP/UFT, every time you will have to change the system current date to installation date and once QTP/UFT is opened you can change the system date to current date.

Already QTP/UFT installed and few days expiry date remaining :

• Make sure your QTP/UFT is not completely expired and few days still remaining to expire.

• Note down the system current date. Date in which QTP/UFT is working and not expired. Suppose its xx-Jan-2014.

• Open QTP/UFT and do your work whatever you want to do.

• Once your work is done close QTP/UFT

• Next time when you are going to open QTP/UFT please change the system date first to the QTP/UFT last working  date. Suppose system current date is YY-Jan-2014 , please change it to xx-Jan-2014.(Last QTP Working date).

• Once you will open QTP/UFT after changing system date to last working  date the QTP/UFT expiry date will remain same.

• Once QTP is opened you can now go ahead and change the system date to current date if you would like to. It will not effect the expiry date once QTP/UFT is already started.

• Next time whenever you start QTP/UFT, every time you will have to change the system current date to last working date and once QTP/UFT is opened you can change the system date to current date.

Suppose your QTP/UFT has 5 days expiry date remaining then it will always be 5 days and it will not change if you will change the system time every time before start the QTP/UFT.

QTP/UFT already expired : Sorry!!!!! You can’t do anything other than formatting the system.
